“We love because he first loved us. If anyone says, “I love God,” yet hates his brother, he is a liar. For whoever does not love his brother, whom he has seen, cannot love God, whom he has not seen. And he has given us this command: Whoever who loves God must also love his brother.”
- God wants love to be our character, not just our claim. Our love for others will reflect our love for God.
Mentioning a love for God and a disgust for others reveals messed up heart. Love will contradict itself when it is limited! When you acknowledge God’s love and allow Him to fill you with it, a love for others cannot be avoided. It is impossible to share what you do not have, but when you truly have God’s love, it is impossible not to share!
- Is there someone you just cannot stand to be around or even talk about?
- Do you genuinely love God?
- Are you willing to allow God to change your heart?
