“And Samuel said to the people, “Do not be afraid; you have done all this evil. Yet do not turn aside from following the Lord, but serve the Lord with all your heart. And do not turn aside after empty things that cannot profit or deliver, for they are empty. For the Lord will not forsake his people, for his great name’s sake, because it has pleased the Lord to make you a people for himself. Moreover, as for me, far be it from me that I should sin against the Lord by ceasing to pray for you, and I will instruct you in the good and the right way. Only fear the Lord and serve him faithfully with all your heart. For consider what great things he has done for you.”
- If you have given your heart to God, through His Son Jesus, and you have repented (turned) from a life of sin, you are considered one of God’s people. God will not forsake His people. Renew your commitment to follow Him each day. God is concerned with your present heart, not your past sins. Make sure that there has been a time that you have asked Jesus into your heart to be your Lord. Even though you have sinned since that time, do not turn away from Him being your Lord. Consider what Jesus did on the cross in your place, and remove anything that you have allowed to replace Him as number one priority in your life. He was pleased to make you His own, fear Him and serve Him faithfully with all your heart.
