Ephesians 2:3-5

“among whom we all once lived in the passions of our flesh, carrying out the desires of the body[a] and the mind, and were by nature children of wrath, like the rest of mankind. ButGod, being rich in mercy, because of the great love with which he loved us, even when we were dead in our trespasses, made us alive together with Christ—by grace you have been saved—”

  • We deserve death but God offers salvation through His Son, Jesus. We are not good enough to be saved but we are loved enough. Jesus is available to all, but we all must decide to trust Him and submit our lives to Him. Everyone must make that choice for themselves.

Job 2:12-13

“And when they saw him from a distance, they did not recognize him. And they raised their voices and wept, and they tore their robes and sprinkled dust on their heads toward heaven. And they sat with him on the ground seven days and seven nights, and no one spoke a word to him, for they saw that his suffering was very great.” When Job’s friends heard of his troubles; they went to check on him; were deeply broken because of what had happen; and mourned with him. There are times when words are better left unsaid, but the presence of friends who care is always a blessing to those who are hurting.

Job 2:7-10

“So Satan went out from the presence of the Lord and struck Job with loathsome sores from the sole of his foot to the crown of his head. And he took a piece of broken pottery with which to scrape himself while he sat in the ashes. Then his wife said to him, “Do you still hold fast your integrity? Curse God and die.” But he said to her, “You speak as one of the foolish women would speak. Shall we receive good from God, and shall we not receive evil?” In all this Job did not sin with his lips.” When your faith in God is unwavering; your praise, commitment, and loyalty to God will also be unwavering.

Job 1:20-22

“Then Job arose and tore his robe and shaved his head and fell on the ground and worshiped. And he said, “Naked I came from my mother’s womb, and naked shall I return. The Lord gave, and the Lord has taken away; blessed be the name of the Lord.” In all this Job did not sin or charge God with wrong.” Job lost all his possessions, including his 10 children, and yet in his pain and sorrow, he worshipped God. Job’s worship of God did not depend on his situations and circumstances, because his relationship with God was more important than anything else in his life.   If you lost everything else, would Jesus be enough? Will you praise God in every situation and circumstance? What would keep you from worshiping God? If you answer anything, God is not your top priority.

Job 1:1

“There was a man in the land of Uz whose name was Job, and that man was blameless and upright, one who feared God and turned away from evil.” What are you known for? Does your reputation include blameless, upright, and God-fearing? If you are okay with your current reputation, how can you be growing in Christ? James 4:10 “Humble yourselves before the Lord, and he will exalt you.”

Ephesians 6:19

“Pray also for me, that whenever I speak, words may be given me so that I will fearlessly make known the mystery of the gospel,” We should all seek the prayers of fellow brothers and sisters in Christ. These prayers that we seek should be requested with the intent that God will be glorified and honored in our lives in whatever situation or circumstance may be present.  Likewise, we should remain in prayer for our brothers and sisters in Christ so that their lives may be ever-glorifying to our Father.

Ephesians 6:10-13

“Finally, be strong in the Lord and in the strength of his might. Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the schemes of the devil. For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places. Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand firm.” When people are walking with God and seeking His will there will not be angry conflicts and hatred present. When they are present, either one side or both sides have no thoughts of pleasing God because pride and a false sense of entitlement has taken over. May we remember that the one who loves will always be at peace and that Light will always overcome darkness. Whatever problems we have with other people can be fixed when Jesus is given control. The situation or circumstance may not change but the heart will. Our ability to love others depends on our understanding of this scripture verse. Our struggle is not against people. Our struggles are against the evil that is
