James 2:12-13

“So speak and so act as those who are to be judged under the law of liberty. For judgment is without mercy to one who has shown no mercy. Mercy triumphs over judgment.”

• Most of the time, our problem is that we desire mercy for ourselves and judgement for others! We should see others through God’s eyes and never forget that the cross is for all who believe on the name of Jesus! Our goodness did not put us in a “deserving” category, but God’s mercy and grace brought us into a family of believers! If we do not have the time or desire to speak to those people who God puts in our path, it is very doubtful that we love them or that we understand God’s love for us.

Matthew 6:14-15 “For if you forgive others their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you, but if you do not forgive others their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.”

Dear Lord, please change our hearts so that we may see others through your eyes and help us to replace our judgmental and unforgiving attitudes with mercy and love. Amen

Matthew 4:3-4

“And the tempter came and said to him, “If you are the Son of God, command these stones to become loaves of bread.” But he answered, “It is written, “‘Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that comes from the mouth of God.’”” If you say you are seeking God daily, but you are not consistently in His Word, then I challenge that God is not your priority. God’s Word will change your life by guiding every step you take. Get to know His Word and let it guide your every step. The application of His Word to your life will bring peace and joy that you cannot find anywhere else. If you are just feeding your body with food, you are just existing, but if you are feeding your soul with God’s Word, you are living. Make a vow today to truly “live” the rest of your life. We try not to miss many meals, but how often do we skip getting into the Word? Maybe that is why we often feel spiritually malnourished. How much time do you spend meditating on God’s Word, versus thinking about your next meal? Do you need to adjust

Matthew 4:1

“Then Jesus was led up by the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted by the devil.” The Holy Spirit may lead us to a place where we will be tempted, but He will not leave us there alone. Overcoming temptation strengthens us. Romans 8:28 “And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose.”

Matthew 3:10

“The ax is already at the root of the trees, and every tree that does not produce good fruit will be cut down and thrown into the fire.” A Christian, by claim only, is not a Christian. We must live a Jesus proclaiming life. What fruit are you producing in your Christian walk? What in your daily walk sets you apart from those who do not know Christ as their Savior? Do others want what you have because of the joy they see in your life?

Matthew 1:23

“Behold, the virgin shall conceive and bear a son, and they shall call his name Immanuel” (which means, God with us) All other gifts are not relevant compared to the true Gift of Christmas. Jesus is the only gift we need, and the only essential gift. He is available to all who will receive Him, but no one will benefit from a gift they refuse.

Proverbs 31:30

“Charm is deceitful, and beauty is vain, but a woman who fears the Lord is to be praised.” There is nothing more beautiful than a Christlike woman. As a matter of fact, the beauty of everyone is directly proportional to their walk with Christ.

Proverbs 30:8-9

“Remove far from me falsehood and lying; give me neither poverty nor riches; feed me with the food that is needful for me, lest I be full and deny you and say, “Who is the Lord?” or lest I be poor and steal and profane the name of my God.” Salvation is found in Jesus and Jesus alone! Are you willing to not be poor or rich as long as you are in fellowship with God? Is Jesus alone enough for you to be content? Matthew 6:31-33 “Therefore do not be anxious, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ For the Gentiles seek after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them all. But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.” 2 Corinthians 3:4-5 “Such is the confidence that we have through Christ toward God. Not that we are sufficient in ourselves to claim anything as coming from us, but our sufficiency is from God” Dear Lord – may I honor You with my life and may I be content in You and the path you have
