John 3:30

“He must increase, but I must decrease.” — The evidence of Christian growth in our lives is when our focus is continually growing toward Christ and fading from self!

  • We must answer and live like John the Baptist did when asked about Jesus. Our lives must be committed to exalting the name of Jesus Christ. We only have so much room in our hearts and in our minds, let us work together on giving it all to Christ! You are loved. When we decrease in self, we increase in Christ and He is exalted, not us. As we learn to humble ourselves, He will lift us up. When Jesus is the object and focus of our desires, we will exemplify Him, grow closer to Him, and find true joy and peace in Him. May God be glorified in our lives.
  • Is Christ becoming greater in your life?
  • Is His will taking more precedence in your life than your own self will?
  • Is your focus more on what you desire for your life or on what Christ desires for your life? Is a change needed?
  • Is Jesus becoming more apparent in your life daily? Weekly? Monthly? Yearly? Can the world even tell that He’s there?
  • Is Jesus becoming greater in your life or are your goals and desires centered around you?
  • Do you try to justify what you are, or is your focus on becoming what Jesus is?

John 18:36

“Jesus said, “My kingdom is not of this world. If it were, my servants would fight to prevent my arrest by the Jewish leaders. But now my kingdom is from another place.”” For what purpose do you fight and struggle for each day? Is the Kingdom of God in your focus?

John 18:10, 25

John 18:10 “Then Simon Peter, who had a sword, drew it and struck the high priest’s servant, cutting off his right ear.” John 18:25 “Meanwhile, Simon Peter was still standing there warming himself. So they asked him, “You aren’t one of his disciples too, are you?” He denied it, saying, “I am not.”” On this night, the crowd Peter was with dictated his stand for Christ. Many of us have also been guilty of this very thing. Jesus promised to never to leave us or forsake us, and we should never deny Him, or refuse to stand for Him. If you lose everything else on earth, is Jesus enough for you?  Dear Lord, may we boldly stand for Christ, regardless of other’s beliefs, and regardless of if they accept us or not, because He is all we need. Amen

John 17:5

“And now, Father, glorify me in your own presence with the glory that I had with you before the world existed.” Our future glory is only possible because Jesus chose to leave His ultimate glory, for a time, so that it could be. We must understand the depth of the gift of Christ.

John 16:33

“I have said these things to you, that in me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation. But take heart; I have overcome the world.” The question is not, if we will have tribulation, we will. The question is, when we have tribulation, will we fully trust Jesus and believe the words that He spoke. “These things” that Jesus is talking about, are revealed to us when we study God’s Word. When we give our lives to Christ, and let Him have control each day, we will live in peace through the tribulations. This life is not the end for those who have committed their lives to Christ.
