“When Israel became strong, they pressed the Canaanites into forced labor but never drove them out completely.”
- God told his people to drive out their enemies completely. He knew that if any portion of their enemies remained around them, that eventually the people would stumble and be influenced by false gods and fleshly desires. He tells us the same thing when we commit our lives to Him. He tells us to get rid of everything that is not pure, and commit all that we have to Him. All too often we just will not let go of that one little sin, and we will keep it in our lives. Just as the Israelites saw, this will eventually result in lost battles and broken fellowship. We must lay every sin at the foot of the cross.
- What are you holding on to that God’s word clearly commands you to release?
