Mark 12:14

“And they came and said to him, “Teacher, we know that you are true and do not care about anyone’s opinion. For you are not swayed by appearances,  but truly teach the way of God. Is it lawful to pay taxes to Caesar, or not? Should we pay them, or should we not?””

  • Integrity and character know no shame. If you have received Christ as your Savior, share the hope and faith that you have. It may be the difference between life and death for those you are worried about offending.
  • Are your words and actions swayed by who you are around?
  • What do people know about you and how would they describe you?
  • Does who you are around affect the topic of your conversation?
  • Are you less bold about your witness around non-Christians than you are around your brothers in Christ?
  • Are there times you feel like you want to be a witness and you have the urge to speak of something in the Bible or voice what God has done in your life but you are uncomfortable bringing up the subject because of the crowd you are around?

Dear Lord, help us to boldly stand up for You and share with others what You have done in our lives. May we live our lives in a way that brings You honor and glory. Amen

Proverbs 15:1

“A soft answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger.” We have total control of how we talk to others. We must choose to either honor God or to remain prideful and self-righteous. Matthew 12:34 “…..For the mouth speaks what the heart is full of.” Proverbs 14:10 “Each heart knows its own bitterness, and no one else can share its joy.” Psalm 139:23-24 “Search me, God, and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts. See if there is any offensive way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting.” Proverbs 15:18 “A hot-tempered man stirs up strife, but he who is slow to anger quiets contention.” Proverbs 15:28 “The heart of the righteous ponders how to answer, but the mouth of the wicked pours out evil things.” James 1:19-20 “Know this, my beloved brothers: let every person be quick to hear, slow to speak, slow to anger; for the anger of man does not produce the righteousness of God.” Dear Lord, please guide us to be quick to listen, slow to speak, and slow to anger.
