“And the scribes of the Pharisees, when they saw that he was eating with sinners and tax collectors, said to his disciples, “Why does he eat with tax collectors and sinners?” And when Jesus heard it, he said to them, “Those who are well have no need of a physician, but those who are sick. I came not to call the righteous, but sinners.””
- When Jesus hung out with sinners, He had a message to share, and when He hung out with believers, He encouraged and taught the message they had already received. God will lead us to both groups according to His purpose for us. The group you are avoiding may be the ones who need to see and hear the message of Christ’s love in and from you. Pray before you make your decision on who you need to avoid.
- Are there people you have been neglecting because of their reputation?
- Does your conversation topic change depending on the group you are with or is your faith revealed in both groups?
Matthew 10:32-33 “So everyone who acknowledges me before men, I also will acknowledge before my Father who is in heaven, but whoever denies me before men, I also will deny before my Father who is in heaven.”
Thank you, Lord, for calling me, a sinner who has been saved by your mercy and grace. Amen
