“They gathered in such large numbers that there was no room left, not even outside the door, and he preached the word to them. Some men came, bringing to him a paralyzed man, carried by four of them. Since they could not get him to Jesus because of the crowd, they made an opening in the roof above Jesus by digging through it and then lowered the mat the man was lying on. When Jesus saw their faith, he said to the paralyzed man, “Son, your sins are forgiven.””
- Our does our heart compare to these men’s hearts when we struggle to even invite our friends to church, much less to share the gospel with them. The efforts of these friends demonstrated their strong faith in Jesus. We are saved by faith, encouraged in our walk by faith, assured of our eternity through faith, and at peace in all situations and circumstances when our faith is steadfast. When our faith is strong, we will have no hesitation about sharing our faith with those we encounter.
- Are you walking by faith?
Hebrews 11:1 “Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen.”
1 Samuel 2:9 “He will guard the feet of his faithful ones, but the wicked shall be cut off in darkness, for not by might shall a man prevail.”
Ephesians 2:8 “For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God,”
2 Corinthians 5:7 “for we walk by faith, not by sight.”
Dear Lord, forgive us for our lack of faith and forgive us for having a heart that does not break for those who do not know you. Amen
