“And Peter took him aside and began to rebuke him, saying, “Far be it from you, Lord. This shall never happen to you.” But he turned and said to Peter, “Get behind me, Satan. You are a hindrance to me. For you are not setting your mind on the things of God, but on the things of man.”
- Our disagreement with God’s plans is always a result of putting our will before His. We cannot be a soldier for Christ if we are more concerned about our well-being and status in this world, than we are for His plan. We often admit that we are not walking as we should with Jesus, but very few of us would realize and admit that we are more of a hindrance than a committed follower.
- Are you a hindrance to Christ, or a soldier in His army?
- He gave everything for you, what will you do for Him?
- Do you focus more on your plan, or God’s instruction?
Dear Lord, forgive us when we place our desires above Your plans, and increase our passion for Your truth. Amen
