“Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites. For you clean the outside of the cup and the plate, but inside they are full of greed and self-indulgence. You blind Pharisee. First clean the inside of the cup and the plate, that the outside also may be clean.”
- Often, we focus on doing what is right so we can justify ourselves, instead of being right, and letting Christ justify us. When we change our heart, our actions will follow. When Christ is our passion, His righteousness is our nature. A walk with Christ begins, and is sustained, on the inside. Our outside appearance should be a result of our inside heart. We must let Jesus transform us from the inside out. Our foundation must take precedence over our appearance, and we must build our house on the Rock, Jesus Christ.
- Do you put on a front that does not truly match your heart?
Dear Lord, forgive us when we worry more about how we appear than how we truly are. Please change us from the inside out, to reflect your Son living in us. Amen
