“But whatever gain I had, I counted as loss for the sake of Christ. Indeed, I count everything as loss because of the surpassing worth of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord. For his sake I have suffered the loss of all things and count them as rubbish, in order that I may gain Christ and be found in him, not having a righteousness of my own that comes from the law, but that which comes through faith in Christ, the righteousness from God that depends on faith”
- As Christians we should get rid of the things that are taking our eyes off of Christ so that we may focus fully on becoming more Christlike. Whatever we have attained on earth is a gift from God. We should never let what we “own” or “earn” become the object of our affection. May we always let the “Giver of All Things” and our relationship with Him be our priority. Our attempt to live righteous lives must be founded in our love for Jesus who is our only hope for righteousness. Without Him all is in vain. When we change our perspective to Christ, we will change from being “wanting people” to being “thankful people”. We have nothing if we do not have Christ. No other priority will bring you peace.
- What is your number one priority?
- Do you walk each day with Christ in the forefront of your heart and thoughts?
- Do you live out your claim or is it a false claim?
