Philippians 4:11-13

“Not that I am speaking of being in need, for I have learned in whatever situation I am to be content. I know how to be brought low, and I know how to abound. In any and every circumstance, I have learned the secret of facing plenty and hunger, abundance and need. I can do all things through him who strengthens me.”

  • The ultimate proof of faith is stated in this verse. Contentment will never be found if it is dependent on another person, event, situation, or circumstance. If Jesus is not enough, you will never know contentment. If you claim to be content and you do not know Jesus, the temporary happiness that your claiming as contentment will end. The situations, circumstances, events, and person of Jesus Christ that lead to contentment have already happened. Your response to Jesus and commitment to Him will determine your contentment.
  • What does it take for you to be content?
  • Are you content in whatever circumstances you are in?
  • Is your peace and contentment controlled by your situations and circumstances or is Jesus always sufficient?
  • If you lost everything else, would Jesus be enough?

Hebrews 13:5 “Keep your life free from love of money, and be content with what you have, for he has said, “I will never leave you nor forsake you.”

Philippians 4:19 “And my God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus.”

John 1:40-42

“One of the two who heard John speak and followed Jesus was Andrew, Simon Peter’s brother. He first found his own brother Simon and said to him, “We have found the Messiah” (which means Christ). He brought him to Jesus. Jesus looked at him and said, “You are Simon the son of John. You shall be called Cephas” (which means Peter).” These are examples of true followers of Christ. If you understand the salvation that Jesus offers and if you genuinely love others, you will desire to share Jesus with them. Share Jesus today. Love others and care for their souls! Death is inevitable and unpredictable, so do not let your procrastination become your regret. Jesus is the answer for all. Who in your family needs to know Jesus? Have you introduced them to Jesus? How are you doing with your witness to others you encounter? John 1:45 “Philip found Nathanael and told him, “We have found the one Moses wrote about in the Law, and about whom the prophets also wrote—Jesus of Nazareth, the son of Joseph.”

John 1:10-13

“He was in the world, and the world was made through him, yet the world did not know him. He came to his own, and his own people did not receive him. But to all who did receive him, who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God, who were born, not of blood nor of the will of the flesh nor of the will of man, but of God.”  Jesus came to save, and His offer is to all who believe in His name, and those who believe are adopted into the family of God. The plan, promise, and offer are on the table and it is not too late to give your life to Christ. He came to “all” who would receive Him. Where does your heart lead you? Are you one of the “all”? Will you believe and receive Jesus, be welcomed into the family of God, and represent your Father from this point forward?

John 1:6-7, 41, 45

John 1:6-7 “There was a man sent from God, whose name was John. He came as a witness, to bear witness about the light, that all might believe through him.” John 1:41 “The first thing Andrew did was to find his brother Simon and tell him, “We have found the Messiah” that is, the Christ.” John 1:45 “Philip found Nathanael and told him, “We have found the one Moses wrote about in the Law, and about whom the prophets also wrote—Jesus of Nazareth, the son of Joseph.”” The most important news you can ever share is the news of salvation through Jesus! Who have you told about Jesus? Who will you tell?

Galatians 6:14

“May I never boast except in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, through which the world has been crucified to me, and I to the world.” The cross is all we have, and the cross is all we need.

Galatians 6:9-10

“And let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up. So then, as we have opportunity, let us do good to everyone, and especially to those who are of the household of faith.” Who does “everyone” include? Does it not include people who have done you wrong, people who do not believe what you believe, people who ignore you, people of different race, religion, or social status, etc.? Regardless of the outcome, and regardless of the response, we must stand firm in faith while striving to be Christlike to everyone. Often it never crosses our mind because we are focused on ourselves. An outward focus will bring peace, while an inward focus will always bring worry. When is the last time you did something good to someone? Do you look for opportunities to do so? When is the last time you made up your mind that you were going bless someone? Will you choose to focus outwardly on others, or only on your personal needs and desires? Will you look for the opportunity today to do good to “everyone”, or will you make an excuse as to how

Galatians 6:7-8

“Do not be deceived: God is not mocked, for whatever one sows, that will he also reap. For the one who sows to his own flesh will from the flesh reap corruption, but the one who sows to the Spirit will from the Spirit reap eternal life.” We are not responsible for other’s actions, however, without exception, we are all responsible for our own actions. Check the topics of your conversation, your words, your attitudes, your relationships, your thoughts, and your actions! Those who walk through life avoiding the “God” discussions, have decided they don’t have the time, or desire, to go to church, never pick up the Bible for guidance, and never look past self-satisfaction or personal comfort, there will be a great awakening one day. We will all give an account to God for how we lived our lives! We will not “get by” with anything, but our sins will either be answered for by Christ, or we will pay the price ourselves eternally. Justification will only come through Jesus Christ.  What is on your agenda today, and at the end of the day, what is your goal? Does your “daily grind” ever focus on God, or is
