“The people, however, were still sacrificing at the high places, because a temple had not yet been built for the Name of the Lord. Solomon showed his love for the Lord by walking according to the instructions given him by his father David, except that he offered sacrifices and burned incense on the high places.”
- The “except” in the passage above was a huge problem for Solomon, and it is a huge problem for us. God desires our devotion in all areas of our lives. Claiming Christianity and not attending church, is one example of having an “except” in your life. Your actions will always reveal your priorities.
- If other things take priority over a time set aside to worship God, is He really the object of your worship?
