Ephesians 6:10-13

“Finally, be strong in the Lord and in the strength of his might. Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the schemes of the devil. For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places. Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand firm.”

  • When people are walking with God and seeking His will there will not be angry conflicts and hatred present. When they are present, either one side or both sides have no thoughts of pleasing God because pride and a false sense of entitlement has taken over. May we remember that the one who loves will always be at peace and that Light will always overcome darkness. Whatever problems we have with other people can be fixed when Jesus is given control. The situation or circumstance may not change but the heart will.
  • Our ability to love others depends on our understanding of this scripture verse. Our struggle is not against people. Our struggles are against the evil that is in others and/or in ourselves. When we realize and are honest about our own struggles, and we understand that others are also involved in spiritual warfare, our hearts should be filled with the same mercy and grace for them that God has extended to us. Too often we want mercy and grace for ourselves but justice for others. Most of all, may we always dwell in the center of God’s will so that the spiritual forces of evil will not overtake us.
  • It is not about the fortress you build around you, it is about the fortress and power that is built within you. Your actions are caused by your thoughts and your thoughts are caused by your heart. If you change on the inside, everything on the outside will follow suit. A battle won by the heart is a battle lost by the flesh. Our goal is an earthly body held captive by a heavenly heart.
  • What are you doing to build the fortress of your heart?

Dear Lord, please help us to understand that our battles are not against another person but against Satan himself. May we not expect someone who does not know Christ to act as a Christian, but may we strive to share Christ with them! May our understanding of the spiritual forces of evil break our hearts for those who are not in Christ. Give us the strength to live in the victory that was won by Jesus on the cross. Forgive us of our sins and teach us to live the abundant life that Jesus gifted us with and may all that we do be for Your glory!! Amen

Matthew 4:1

“Then Jesus was led up by the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted by the devil.” The Holy Spirit may lead us to a place where we will be tempted, but He will not leave us there alone. Overcoming temptation strengthens us. Romans 8:28 “And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose.”

Matthew 3:10

“The ax is already at the root of the trees, and every tree that does not produce good fruit will be cut down and thrown into the fire.” A Christian, by claim only, is not a Christian. We must live a Jesus proclaiming life. What fruit are you producing in your Christian walk? What in your daily walk sets you apart from those who do not know Christ as their Savior? Do others want what you have because of the joy they see in your life?

Matthew 1:23

“Behold, the virgin shall conceive and bear a son, and they shall call his name Immanuel” (which means, God with us) All other gifts are not relevant compared to the true Gift of Christmas. Jesus is the only gift we need, and the only essential gift. He is available to all who will receive Him, but no one will benefit from a gift they refuse.

Proverbs 31:30

“Charm is deceitful, and beauty is vain, but a woman who fears the Lord is to be praised.” There is nothing more beautiful than a Christlike woman. As a matter of fact, the beauty of everyone is directly proportional to their walk with Christ.

Proverbs 30:8-9

“Remove far from me falsehood and lying; give me neither poverty nor riches; feed me with the food that is needful for me, lest I be full and deny you and say, “Who is the Lord?” or lest I be poor and steal and profane the name of my God.” Salvation is found in Jesus and Jesus alone! Are you willing to not be poor or rich as long as you are in fellowship with God? Is Jesus alone enough for you to be content? Matthew 6:31-33 “Therefore do not be anxious, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ For the Gentiles seek after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them all. But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.” 2 Corinthians 3:4-5 “Such is the confidence that we have through Christ toward God. Not that we are sufficient in ourselves to claim anything as coming from us, but our sufficiency is from God” Dear Lord – may I honor You with my life and may I be content in You and the path you have

Proverbs 30:5

“Every word of God proves true; he is a shield to those who take refuge in him.” Amazingly enough, we wonder why God will not let us see what He’s doing in the situations we find ourselves in, yet we are unwilling to open His written word. Invest your time, focus, mind, conversation, effort, and especially your heart in God’s word. No return on investment will ever compare. How much of His truth have you hidden in your heart to guide your life? Where else would you go and where else would you take refuge, other than God’s Word? Psalm 119:9-11 “How can a young man keep his way pure? By guarding it according to your word. With my whole heart I seek you; let me not wander from your commandments! I have stored up your word in my heart, that I might not sin against you.” Ephesians 6:17 “Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.” Psalm 119:11 “I have hidden your word in my heart that I might not sin against you.” Psalm 119:105 “Your word is a lamp for my feet, a light on my path.” John 17:17
