“For am I now seeking the approval of man, or of God? Or am I trying to please man? If I were still trying to please man, I would not be a servant of Christ.”
- Be real with yourself about who you are devoted to above all others. If it is not Jesus Christ, there-in lies your problems! Your spouse cannot be first, your friends cannot be first, and you cannot place yourself first! It must be Christ! Man may give you approval, but God will give you a victorious life! Trying to please the majority will always mean that you are not trying to please Christ! You cannot serve both!
- If your conversation about God is ever altered because of your discomfort, or because you are afraid of others discomfort, who are you trying to please?
- Will the people you are around today dictate your witness for Christ, or will your heart for Christ, and your Christlike love for those around you, be so real that you must share the hope that you have in Jesus?
- How would God describe your witness?
Job 1:8 “And the Lord said to Satan, “Have you considered my servant Job, that there is none like him on the earth, a blameless and upright man, who fears God and turns away from evil?”
Philippians 1:27-28 “Only let your manner of life be worthy of the gospel of Christ, so that whether I come and see you or am absent, I may hear of you that you are standing firm in one spirit, with one mind striving side by side for the faith of the gospel, and not frightened in anything by your opponents. This is a clear sign to them of their destruction, but of your salvation, and that from God.”
