“For where jealousy and selfish ambition exist, there will be disorder and every vile practice. But the wisdom from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, open to reason, full of mercy and good fruits, impartial and sincere. And a harvest of righteousness is sown in peace by those who make peace.”
- Maybe one reason our harvest is not righteousness is that we have not allowed God to fill us with His wisdom! In our own wisdom we are defeated; in His wisdom we are filled with peace and joy. We often find answers in the Bible that we do not want to hear. When we cannot seem to live right and our life is full of disorder, we must look deep inside before we look for outside reasons. A focus on God with no priority above Him will eliminate internal evil and disorder. We must never be satisfied with our self-proclaimed wisdom but always seek “true wisdom” from above! Seeking, receiving, and practicing wisdom from above will bring a peace that passes all understanding!
- Would your average day be better described by the word “peace” or “disorder”?
- Are you seeking God’s wisdom from His word?
- When you look at the characteristics of Godly wisdom, how much wisdom do you possess?
Philippians 4:6-7 “do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”
Hebrews 13:5 “Keep your life free from love of money, and be content with what you have, for he has said, “I will never leave you nor forsake you.””
Philippians 4:4 “Rejoice in the Lord always; again I will say, rejoice.”
