“Do not boast about tomorrow, for you do not know what a day may bring.”
- Far too often we miss an opportunity to serve or a blessing from God today because we are worried about or we are planning tomorrow. No one is promised tomorrow on earth, but the one who places his faith in the Lord is promised eternity with Jesus. The best plan each day is to follow Christ. Our joy and excitement should not be in our future plans, but in our present obedience.
Matthew 6:34 “Therefore do not be anxious about tomorrow, for tomorrow will be anxious for itself. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble.”
Philippians 4:6-7 “do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”
Dear Lord, may we slow down and see what You have for us today, while always trusting that You will take care of us tomorrow. Amen
