“Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it. Keep your mouth free of perversity; keep corrupt talk far from your lips. Let your eyes look straight ahead; fix your gaze directly before you. Give careful thought to the paths for your feet and be steadfast in all your ways. Do not turn to the right or the left; keep your foot from evil.”
- Where you fix your eyes is where you will go. Once you stray, you cannot get back on the right path until your eyes find the path that you should be on and you fully commit to following that path. While we should learn from the past, we should never dwell there. As we consider our options each day, we should never entertain options that are not Biblical. Yesterday’s mistakes, hurts, and sorrows should never rob us of today’s peace, love, and joy.
- Do you determine in your heart how you will react to what you may face today?
- Will you honor God when you face difficulties?
- Will you honor God in your conversation and your thoughts?
Dear Lord, may we fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith, and may we not be distracted from following Your word by allowing a worldly influence to divert us. Amen
